The Alyssa midi dress from Chi Chi London is beautifully made from thick polyester with a slight sheen. A pansy floral design is repeated throughout the fitted body and skirt. The box pleated skirt cinches at the waist and opens outwards with side slit pockets. I wore this flattering design with feminine baby blue heels (Aldo) and a simple box clutch.
I love this dress because it can be dressed up or down for many different occasions, for example, the dress can be dressed up by simply puffing out the pleated skirt for a more dramatic look; this would be perfect for special occasions such as weddings, dates and birthdays. To dress down, the skirt can be ironed down and a figure fitting blazer would complete the chic outfit. Furthermore, it is fully lined so it is a dress worth investing on to get you through the seasons. With a 15% student discount on top of the £57.99 price tag, it’s is truly a star steal. What do you think?
The postal service was extremely quick too, it was delivered the following morning. Thank you Chi Chi London and Etail PR for this sponsored dress!
Military is making a comeback but not as you know it; feminine and subtle details instead of unstructured army wear. Here are my picks for this season:
Bea bow embellished shirt: Adorned with delicate ribbon bows, the fluid Bea shirt will lend a feminine spin to the uniform. In a semi-sheer finish, this versatile monochrome staple features a Peter Pan collar and concealed buttons. Accentuate the clean lines and team with a sharply tailored jacket (below), architectural heels and gilded jewels.
Sleeveless Ponte Jacket: Navy rules this season with this tailored double-faced ponte jacket. An open front design with two zip front pockets.
Utility Pelmet Skirt: Utilitarian inspired pelmet skirt with two oversized flap front pockets and zip fastening to the back.
3.1 Phillip Lim’s versatile ‘Pashli Mini Messenger’ bag: This boxy design softens the look; it has multiple internal pockets and offers enough space to store everyday necessities. Use this monochrome textured-leather accessory to add pattern and texture to your look. Black and cream textured-leather (Cow), black leather (Calf)
Hope you like my choice! My favourite is the Sleeveless Ponte Jacket, it has to be the best Winter to Spring transition piece.
Jewellery is all about the individual, and personal style. These elegant and playful beauties are my favourites for this season.
First up, is from an exciting contemporary Chinese brand Everard & Wang, the bracelet envelops 10mm semi-circle Malachite beads in a 18k gold plated brass. The £400 simple classy piece, part of the Fang Yuan collection, can be styled up or down for a stylish sophisticated lady.
Next, is a perfect Valentines Day gift, the 3 piece MFP – Maria Francesca Pepe Lover Ring set is beautiful and affordable. Reworking classic designs into post-modern interpretations, Maria Francesca Pepe presents the heart midi ring set. Adorn your fingers in this eye-catching, plated brass trio, comprised of: chunky gold cuff with large Swarovski heart, a carved ‘Love’ band and a spike and Swarovski studded cuff. It is currently in the half price sale at Coggles for £83.
Lastly, to round up Munnu with a multi-coloured 22-karat gold tourmaline ring. This Gem Palace’s ring is set with a colorful mix of tourmalines, totaling 1.65-carats. This delicate piece has been handmade from matte 22-karat gold in the brand’s Jaipur workshop. The colourful sparkling gems is subtle enough to wear every day. This piece costs an eye watering £2,300, but it has been certified in accordance with the Hallmarking Act 1973.
Which piece is your favourite? For me, it has to be the first bracelet.
The Mini Mani Manor advent calendar was the perfect set, taking me through the splendour of the holiday season with a colour-filled countdown. The extravagant 24 piece mini nail collection, hidden behind each window could be mix and matched for the perfect mani. The set includes 17 of Ciaté’s most popular shades including Mistress, Amazing Gracie and Cupcake Queen, five exclusive textured polishes, one exclusive full size Paint Pot and one set of festive nail transfers. Here’s my mani, I think it can be classed as the classic frozen theme.
The colours were rich and easy to build, lasting for 4 days before chipping. The only minor fault with my calendar, was that it had a repeat of ‘Slumber Party’ and missing the ‘Red Runway Glitter’ which was promised in the outer packaging. What do you think of the set, have you tried it?
Perfect for the new year, a dark purple jumper with gold stitching detail and embroidered jewel embellishment would make you look elegant from day till night. The shiny gem catches the light and gives a very feminine style. This style works equally well with jeans or tailored culottes. Here, I accessorised with large pearl earrings, pearl bracelet and pony fur leather heels.
The £895.00 reversible blanket poncho crafted in Scotland from wool and cashmere. It is inspired by traditional equestrian blankets, the design is jacquard-woven with a new interpretation of the classic check pattern and is finished with blanket stitch edges. This British Heritage has been proudly named the high honour of most worn item with a colour-block, check blanket poncho.
The best part of a Burberry poncho/ blanket isn’t the colour-block or signature checked pattern; it’s the Monogramming. That’s where our eyes are first drawn to, and the personalisation service is a extra £200.00.
Extra-popular among the model set, Cara Jocelyn Delevingne took her CJD poncho straight from runway to sidewalk in 15 minutes.
Other British models, Suki Waterhouse, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Alexa Chung are also seen with their monogrammed initials ponchos, it is one of my favourite AW14 ultimate off-duty look, (and I think Rosie wore it best). Would you get the Burberry blanket poncho without your initials…? I believe it’s a must have!
This year I spent the whole of Christmas day with my lovely family, so I decided a cute Christmas outfit would be perfect for this occasion. I looked in many shops to find a unique Christmas jumper, and finally when I set my eyes on this jumper, I knew that would be the focus of my Christmas outfit. This adorable penguin, printed on a soft white pile jumper, is super soft. The shape gives the perfect, slightly loose fit. I styled and tucked it in a cobalt blue, wool (mohair) blended, mini skirt (from & Other Stories) and black denier tights. To finish off, I accesorised with a cheap, red Christmas bow headband (from Tesco).
The packaging doesn’t disappoint, a simple thick box with statement products is exactly what you get. I was attracted by the simple black and white concept with an alternative nail polish inside. I love the heavy glass bottles and they deserve their own space in my bedroom, (instead of hiding in the nail polish box).
I decided to try Bamboo White first as it’s approaching Christmas, it can easily be used as the base coat for further decorations if needed. The thickness is consistent and being such a light colour, 3 coatings is recommended. This product certainly lives up to the expectations of an expensive nail polish. It worths the price tag of £45.00 (Judo Red and Bamboo White Duo). After wearing the polish for 5 days, it is still lasting. I have applied 3 coats of bamboo white and on the 6th day I applied one glitter topcoat for a Christmassy touch.
On December 8th, Nails inc, in collaboration with Victoria Beckham launched the most chic beauty product of the year – a unique limited edition collection of nail polishes. The polishes have been inspired by the feel of the collection and its subtle incorporation of Japanese elements creating the must-have new-season nail looks. In Judo Red and Bamboo White, these vibrant tomato red and delicate bone limited edition nail polish shades come in a matte white and matte black bottle with matching caps.
Created with stretch to fit technology, these polishes will glide onto the nail for a plump, flawless finish.
Formulated with Bamboo Extract, containing essential nutrients, to build healthy nails, reduce ridges and imperfections and promote nail growth. It also ensures a perfectly smooth application.
The new Nails inc glass bottle designed by renowned Creative Director Fabien Baron and customised by Victoria Beckham, has reinvented the ordinary nail polish bottle. This collaboration is chic and stylish, made with the finest Venetian glass, each bottle is hand frosted to reveal the hidden polish colours at either side. The bottle is available in two colours – matte white and matte black with matching caps.
Make a lasting impression at your next event like Cheryl and Samantha Ko in a devilish red gown. Cheryl is wearing a Zuhair Murad gown in the Xfactor Sunday Finale, whereas Samantha is wearing a Hong Kong Couture dress by Kev Yiu in the 2014 TVB Awards.
Both gowns have heavy attention to detail, and features a sweetheart neckline. Draped swathes of silk-gazar create an elegant and flattering silhouette, while a frothy tulle underlay adds extra volume at the skirt. The black heavily beaded panel across Samantha’s dress draw the eye in to a slim waist. Re-create the glamorous look from the runway with sandals, sparkling jewelry and a gold clutch.
Zhang Ziyi wore a J.Mendel gown to the 51st Golden Horse Film Awards in Taipei, Taiwan.
The gown is from the Resort 2015 collection; an exquisite lace netted top with a mint leaf design is printed throughout the black skirt. The waist is accented with an orange detail around that area. Ziyi completed her outfit with a matching clutch, statement green earrings and chignon styled hair.
